I found myself hurled forth within a giant explosion. I was incredibly light with barely any substance. Super-hot fire filled my being.

Six times my companion bubbles and I tried to join hands, but the volatile energy flung us apart. Finally we cooled enough to form gases like hydrogen, the building blocks of our universe.

Some of us exploded and gave birth to new stars. Others swirled around in spirals. My first faint dream was a feeling of brilliant light, great power and energy.
